WASHINGTON, DC -- When Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue was asked by U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) what could be done to help small dairy farmers in Upstate New York, Perdue replied that economies of scale are destined to impose certain harsh consequences on small farmers. He called the challenges facing dairy farmers "intractable." Perdue added that he would not be "compelled to keep anyone in business if it's not profitable."

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado joined Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to vote for the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, which requires universal background checks for gun purchases and transfers. The bill includes reasonable exceptions that allow for family members to gift or loan firearms amongst each other; an amendment Delgado cosponsors ensures the exception applies to step-parents and step-children as well.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives and introduced a bipartisan Congressional resolution to honor the life of Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent of Pine Plains, New York. The resolution marks her service to our nation and calls for the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy to review the policies that, following Chief Kent's thyroid cancer, deemed her fit to serve in Syria but barred her from pursuing a Ph.D.
