SCHOHARIE COUNTY, NY – Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) held a roundtable at SUNY Cobleskill with Schoharie County officials to discuss COVID-19 aid for local governments. The American Rescue Plan includes Rep. Delgado’s bill, the Direct Support for Communities Act, which establishes a formula for local aid that delivers $130.2 billion to counties and municipalities across the United States. The formula will bring over $400 million directly to local governments in New York's 19th Congressional District.

“At every level, Schoharie County local leaders are focused on delivering meaningful resources to their communities,” said Rep. Delgado. “Via my Direct Support for Communities Act, Schoharie will have the funding necessary to complete critical projects, maintain essential services, and invest in their local economy. It is an honor to deliver over $400 million to local governments across New York's 19th Congressional District, including $9.4 million to Schoharie County and the towns and villages therein.”

“We are grateful for Congressman Delgado taking the time to meet with Schoharie County elected leaders to share the latest information on the American Rescue Plan,” said Schoharie County Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Federice. “There have been a great deal of questions on the process and timing of the funds to be disbursed. Congressman Delgado was very helpful in bringing us up to date, which will help us better plan on where to apply the funds.”
