OTSEGO COUNTY, NY – Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) held a roundtable attended by dozens of Otsego officials to discuss COVID-19 aid for local governments. The American Rescue Plan includes Rep. Delgado’s bill, the Direct Support for Communities Act, which establishes a formula for local aid that delivers $130.2 billion to counties and municipalities across the United States. The formula will bring over $400 million directly to local governments in New York's 19th Congressional District.

“Otsego County needs American Rescue Plan relief to keep residents safe, invest in infrastructure, and support small businesses,” said Rep. Delgado. “I thank Treasurer Allen Ruffles and other local leaders for their time and important questions regarding the federal relief that is on the way. It is an honor to represent folks in Otsego County and deliver over $400 million to local governments across New York's 19th Congressional District, including $18 million to Otsego County and the towns and villages therein.”

“Congressman Delgado did a wonderful job breaking down the rules and regulations regarding the American Rescue Plan money coming to our local municipalities,” said Otsego County Treasurer Allen Ruffles. “His continued communication has assured local leaders and gives us the confidence to tackle any changes in existing guidelines.
