Rep. Delgado Discusses American Rescue Plan Local Funding with Executive Ossenfort and Montgomery County Leaders
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NY – U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) met with Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort, Sheriff Jeffery Smith, County Treasurer Shawn Bowerman, Emergency Management Director Rick Sager, and Economic Development Specialist Vincenzo Nicosia. The officials discussed American Rescue Plan local government funding delivered via Rep. Delgado's Direct Support for Communities Act.
“Montgomery County Executive Ossenfort and his team have worked around the clock to keep residents safe without a dime of direct federal funding,” said Rep. Delgado. “For the first time during COVID-19, my Direct Support for Communities Act will deliver millions in federal relief to Montgomery County. These dollars will help local leaders continue essential services, support small businesses, and more. I am thankful for Executive Ossenfort's partnership and leadership during this crisis.”
“I’m grateful for the partnership we have with Congressman Delgado and for his efforts to ensure local governments were represented in the American Rescue Plan,” said Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort. “Receiving this funding is a huge relief for our community. It will allow us to focus on initiatives that can not only help us rebuild, but fill any budget holes that incurred due to the pandemic.”
