It is my honor to join in congratulating Alyssa Palermo as the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition. Her painting, Adolescent Sunsets, is a beautiful tribute to childhood and shows an advanced understanding of painting at a young age,” said Rep. Delgado. “I look forward to seeing her work in the halls of the U.S. Capitol. I thank everyone who took the time to enter this year’s contest. I am proud of the artistic talent in our community and thank you all for your enthusiasm.”
All high school students who live in New York's 19th Congressional District were invited to submit their artwork throughout the spring. Local art professors selected this year’s winning piece. The painting will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year.
