RED HOOK, NY — This evening, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) delivered remarks at the Red Hook VFW Post #7765 Veterans Day ceremony. The Congressman joined County Executive Marc Molinaro, County Legislator Kris Munn, Town Supervisor Robert McKeon, Mayor Ed Blundell, local officials and veterans as a wreath was laid at Veterans Memorial Park in Red Hook.

“Our nation’s veterans put their life on the line in defense of our country and to uphold our values – liberty, justice for all, equality, fairness and democracy.  This is what makes our veterans and all of our men and women in the military so special. They sign up not knowing what their future will hold, whether they will see combat, and unsure of where their military service will take them. But they serve knowing they are defending not only our safety and security, but also what our country stands for today and has stood for since the signing of our constitution,” said Rep. Antonio Delgado. “It was a humbling experience to stand with the Red Hook veterans and honor their service on this Veterans Day. I will continue to fight for our brave men and women in the Armed Forces and ensure they have the support they need when they return home.”

Earlier today, Congressman Delgado spoke at the Saugerties Lamouree-Hackett American Legion Post 72 annual Veterans Day ceremony and joined a convoy throughout Dutchess County in honor of our nation’s veterans.
