Delgado Statement on One Year Since the Passing of Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) released the following statement:

“One year ago today, our nation lost a heroic soul who gave the ultimate sacrifice during her fifth deployment to the Middle East, Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent, of Pine Plains, New York. SCPO Kent was a skilled Navy cryptologist, in addition to being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and an American hero. A year after her tragic passing, she lives in the hearts of all who knew and loved her - and among those who follow in her footsteps in serving our country. My prayers today are with her family and friends. May the memories of SCPO Kent give her loved ones comfort now and always.”
