ROSENDALE, NY — Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) attended the UlsterCorps 11th Annual MLK Celebration of Service at the Rosendale Recreation Center. Delgado delivered remarks focused on celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service and the importance of giving back to our community.

“Today, we take time to remember the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King spoke of his commitment to service in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, writing, "We are caught in an inescapable network or mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."  When we do community service, we are improving our shared destiny. This is why the work of UlsterCorps is crucial—the organization serves our community day in and day out and helps to bring more people into service," said Delgado.

UlsterCorps is a nonprofit organization that brings volunteers together with the organizations in Ulster County that rely on their help. Since its inception, UlsterCorps has connected thousands of people with dozens of Ulster County agencies that provide food, clothing, shelter, emergency services, literacy training, child and elder care, animal welfare, and more to the area’s most vulnerable residents.
