H.R. 8042 would create a new economic injury disaster loan program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), and allow farmers access to the capital they need with terms and requirements that fit their businesses.

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-Rhinebeck, has launched a survey to gather information from Upstate New Yorkers about any mail delivery delays they are experiencing and their concerns about the future of the U.S. Postal Service.
“My job as a representative of NY 19 is to ring the alarm as early and as often as humanly possible.”
That alarm came in the form of a letter sent to congressional leadership this month.
Lawmakers in the House of Representatives this week introduced the Helping America’s Farmers Act. The legislation would create a new economic injury disaster loan program at the Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency.
Rep. Jahanna Hayes, D-Conn., and Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-N.Y., on Monday introduced H.R. 8042, the Helping America’s Farmers Act, a bill that would set up an economic disaster injury loan program similar to the loan programs at the Small Business Administration.
Two Delaware County hospitals would be helped by a bipartisan federal proposal that would allow rural hospitals to keep their status as Critical Access Hospitals.
